Meditation is a practice that helps us reduce our state of stress and improves our mental health, thanks to the fact that we learn to manage our feelings. It is a great tool that balances us on a physical, mental and spiritual level.
Getting started in meditation may seem complex, but it really is not. To start testing the waters and getting to know the pillars of this practice, we can follow these valuable tricks that we are sharing with you today.
We can start by finding a place quiet, where we don't have any distractions, and a moment of day in which we can focus on ourselves 100%. The next step is to adopt a comfortable posture, which allows us to be focused and leave our mind blank. To achieve this we can help ourselves with a chair, an armchair or use a zafu, a special cushion for meditations.
Next, we will have to “focus our mind” through our breath, a mantra or an object. In this way we will escape from the environment and the reality that surrounds us and we will place ourselves at the center of our attention for a moment. It is very important to explore our sensations, thoughts and emotions when we start meditation, they will give us valuable information about our interior. During this process we can put a Candle of Meditation to make its energies surround us in this very powerful moment.
Starting with short sessions of 5 to 10 minutes will help us little by little get used to it and take it as a habit. We must take into account which time of day is the most suitable for us, whether in the morning to start the day with a balanced frequency or at night to go to sleep relaxed. This practice is based on something personal, therefore, we must adapt it to our needs and tastes.
Adding meditation to our routine can benefit us in numerous ways, since it is a very healthy practice that focuses on the mind and body, and helps us develop our personal power as a result of the harmonization of the being.
