The Caravaca Cross is one of the talismans with the most power, since it has a very deep symbolism and is more than 800 years old. It is very effective as a protector against any type of evil for those who carry it, in addition to protecting the home and family finances. Anyone who carries the Cross of Caravaca attracts good omens: it is responsible for cleaning the aura and protecting the spirit of the bearer, blocking bad energies and returning them to their origin.
In the Murcian town of Caravaca de la Cruz it is said that Zayd Abu Zayd (Muslim king) asked one of the priests he had as prisoners to show him what his trade was. He prepared his altar to be able to offer a mass, but it lacked an indispensable element: the holy cross. At that moment the angels entered carrying the Caravaca Cross and placed it in front of the altar.
This fact so surprised King Zayd Abu Zayd and all his followers that they ended up converting to Christianity.
The Caravaca Cross is not a classic cross, but rather a double cross, where the upper arms are smaller than the lower ones. It refers to the two worlds in which the human being can inhabit: the material (horizontal lines) and the spiritual (vertical line). In this union is our essence, that is, the destiny of reaching spirituality through learning.
The angels that are represented at the base are usually the Archangel Michael and the Archangel Gabriel, something that gives this talisman a great power of protection. Furthermore, in the middle of the cross Jesus Christ crucified also appears, a symbol of sacrificed love.
It is customary, in the town of Caravaca and in other Spanish towns, to give this amulet on special occasions, but especially in sentimental statements. At home, it is good to place the Caravaca Cross behind the door to ward off evil and protect the family.
