Sant Jordi Day 🌹 Protection, strength and purification

Saint George was born in the third century and was a young Christian soldier well known for his bravery and strength in the battles he fought. He was beheaded on April 23 after refusing to renounce his faith.

Its legend, widespread throughout the world, tells that a dragon threatened a small city, destroying its sources and crops. The inhabitants of this, in order to keep the dragon away, made daily offerings. They began with their crops and then with animals, but the day came when the livestock was insufficient and the offering became a person chosen at random.

One day, the princess of the city was chosen for said human sacrifice. Saint George, who was in the place, came to help the king's daughter. With his sword he killed the dragon that was causing so much damage to the inhabitants and a rose sprouted from his blood, which Saint George gave to the princess.

The colors attributed to the martyr are green, red and white, colors of protection, strength and purification respectively. Therefore, it is recommended to ask St. George to people who wish to make any of these three requests. This week, we teach you different rituals for next Friday the 23rd.
