This saint is a symbol of dominion, hope and faith and was associated with a lion representing proclamation and resurrection. This recognition derives from an ancient Christian tradition that is the “domination of Saint Mark” or “dominate over Saint Marcos”, since the faithful prayed to him in difficult situations to overcome problems or protect themselves from all the bad things that happened to them. This evolved until today, where it is known as the patron saint of lawyers and notaries and as a symbol of dominating a situation.
